History and Philosophy

Vetreria Perletti was founded on March 12, 1982, by Giuseppe “Mario” Perletti at the age of 35. In 1996, his 25-year-old son Luca joined the company after completing his studies and gaining work experience outside the canton. In 2008, the company officially became “Alla Vetreria Perletti Sagl.”

From the beginning, Lorenza, Mario’s wife, collaborated closely in the business. In recent years, Daria, Luca’s wife, also joined the team.

Niccolò, born in 1998 and part of the third generation of the Perletti family, is a certified glazier (AFC diploma). He completed his four-year apprenticeship in two phases: the first two years at Beffa, and the last two at the family business, with several internships in other historic glass companies in Ticino. After a few years of work and further training, he became managing director of the company. He lives in the mountains and is passionate about photography and travel, often combining the two.

The three sisters Bianca, Zoe, and Aurora are still students but gladly lend a hand when needed. The youngest, Federico, is a fan of vans and tools and often accompanies his father and brother on site visits whenever he can.

This family dynamic also extends to the staff, contributing to a close-knit, flexible, and familial atmosphere, which translates into a service that is thorough, attentive, and responsible.

Giuseppe Mario Perletti, born and raised in Bergamo, Italy, began working as a glazier in 1960 after completing compulsory schooling. Before beginning his military service, he spent a few months in Ticino, where his sister was working professionally.

During this time abroad, he worked and—most importantly—met a young woman from Bellinzona who changed the course of his life. After completing 18 months of military service as a paratrooper-alpinist, he was supposed to move to Canada. But that fateful encounter brought him back to Ticino, where he settled in Bellinzona and began working as a glazier for Rota and Santini.

With marriage and the arrival of two children—Luca and Laura (the latter now working in the social sector, with extensive experience in international cooperation)—Mario fully integrated into the social and economic fabric of Ticino. He built his business, relationships, and friendships with dedication, creating something solid and lasting, true to his Bergamasco roots.

His love for cycling, travel, hiking, and his passion as a mushroom hunter (“fungiatt”) often led him to explore the territory, deepening his connection with it.

Luca, his son, inherited this passion and dedication, bringing innovation to the business while preserving the same respect for the craft and for people.

Our Philosophy

In 2022, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary, and with it, our approach to work, society, and our clients has grown more mature. We no longer seek to work at any cost or under any condition: we deeply value quality of life, respect for the environment, rules, and people.

This philosophy translates into a genuine, people-first approach—marked by closeness to our clients, service and availability, and a spirit of openness and kindness. Our aim is to go against the grain by avoiding stress, negativity, and the excessive materialism that often defines today’s society.

We like to do

We like to do things consciously and responsibly, without making promises we can’t keep.

We like to look our clients in the eye.

We like to work well, say thank you when we receive a gift, and say sorry—and make amends—when we make mistakes.

We like to grow and mature alongside our clients, supporting them over the years—whether for a project, advice, or simply a coffee.

We like to be positive and to see humanity as a wonderful spiritual heritage, one that’s worth committing to every single day.

We like to live, take part in cultural life, talk to people, learn languages, discover different peoples, travel, read, write, and create and listen to music.

We consider the human being to be a spiritual entity that has incarnated, not merely a body seeking spiritualization. We value those who dedicate themselves to life and to others—with humility and love.

Ferruccio Cainero, inspired by our stories, co-wrote with Franco di Leo:
RSI – Rete Due – Colpo di Scena – Vite di vetro

Morgana Genetelli told our story in:
Corriere del Ticino – “Vetraia per caso, o forse no”
